Akhilesh Singh , M.D.

Dr. Singh is a successful graduate of the accelerated BA/MD program offered by the City University of New York.

Subsequent to his graduation, he served an internship in Internal Medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and then completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at UMDNJ-Camden. Through UMDNJ he enhanced his education by participating in a six month surgical rotation at the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras.

Continuing his urban orientation and commitment, Dr. Singh spent the next eight months working in charity hospitals in Southern India while having a private practice in Manhattan 's Gramercy Park . He was an Attending Physician at NY Eye & Ear Infirmary.

Since 2003 he has been an Attending here at New York Eye and also Chief of Ophthalmology at North Shore University Hospital in Forest Hills.

Dr. Singh is board certified and fluent in Hindi and Spanish.
